In this post, my friend Pelin and I have used artificial intelligence to conduct an imaginary interview with William Shakespeare, who had a huge impact on history. Our interview was about one of his greatest works, "Othello". We asked him ten questions about the novel and he answered our questions with the help of the Magic School's Character Chatbot, a website that incorporates various AI features. Thanks to the tool, we were able to chat with the representation of William Shakespeare.
After the interview with William Shakespeare, we used Magic School's Writing Feedback tool to get feedback. We asked questions about the coherence, word choices, grammar, and flow of our text and made our corrections. At first, it did not give elaborate feedback. However, we created a more detailed entry and received more favourable responses, although not as good as with the character chatbot.
It is impossible to predict the future of artificial intelligence. Five years ago, no one could have foreseen the incredible developments that have taken place. However, if artificial intelligence makes even a small jump, I am certain that I will use it in all the classes I teach from primary school to high school. The experince I have lived with Magic School was incredibly astonishing. I am certain that such a tool will greatly benefit my students and significantly improve their English skills, as if they were conversing with a real person.
Overall, my experience with the Magic School was a little challenging, a little confusing, but one of the tasks that surprised me the most. However, I'm really concerned about the future of AI development. It's so important to be aware that as AI technology develops, there's a chance that some people or groups might use it for bad things or that it could become a more dangerous tool overall. I truly believe that using such tools and applications wisely will lead to better results, both for ethical values and for humanity.
