Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well! In this post, I'll explain the preparation process of our podcast with my friend Pelin.
Our task was to create a sound-rich story podcast. Sound-rich story is a storytelling that contains many voices within a story. Actually, our instructor gave us 3 options. But, we have chosen sound-rich story because we wanted to originate our own script with our imagination. The plot of our story was about a man named Nolan and a murder that happened at his neighbor's birthday party. The person responsible for the murder was a clown because we wanted the birthday party and the suspected killer to be related to each other.
The hardest thing in the process of our podcast was the editing of the voices. Since our story is restricted with 90 seconds of reading, we had to find appropriate sounds with short durations. Other than that, the creation of script was easy because we brainstormed together with Pelin and came out with an idea. To be honest, preparing a podcast was one of the best activities I have done since I started university.
In the later times when I start teaching, I would like to give my students this activity as an assignment. Because I want them to create new ideas and imagine a visionary world in their minds.
We used Freesound for the sound effects, and Podcastle for the editing of our podcast. Here is the link of our podcast.
